2021/09/14:Striders Partners with the World's Largest Startup Competition for Women in Tech

 To promote female entrepreneurship in Japan, Striders Global Investment Pte. Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Striders Corporation (HQ: Tokyo, Japan, President: Ryotaro Hayakawa) partnered with R3i Ventures (HQ: Singapore, General Partner: Leesa Soulodre) and Timo Inc. (South Korea, CEO: Grace Jung), as the local Community Partner to promote the Japanese Round of She Loves Tech 2021 Competition. She Loves Tech is an international non-profit organization that is committed to closing the funding gap for women entrepreneurs that have presence in more than 40 countries worldwide.

 Striders Group has been investing in startups like Roar Media, Evos Esports, Travelio in South and Southeast Asia with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable business development. Promotion of diversity and inclusiveness is in a core value of Striders’ investment philosophy. within the spirit of this philosophy, Striders partnered up with She Loves Tech to promote the female entrepreneurship and to create more fair and equal opportunities for female startup founders in Japan.

 As a community partner of She Loves Tech, Striders will support She Loves Tech in discovering stellar female – led technology startups in Japan from Striders’ own network and mentor the finalists to cultivate the potential of each startup. Striders Global Investment Director, Nelaka Haturusinha will be joining the final competition as a judge. It is high time for the Japanese women entrepreneurs to start looking at the global stage and She Loves Tech provides the perfect platform for it. As a company, we are glad to be partnered up with Leesa and her team to make this first edition of She Loves Tech Japan a success, said Mr. Nelaka Haturusinha.

 Leesa Soulodre, General Partner of R3i Ventures asserted that -“We are delighted to collaborate with Striders on this important inaugural event in Japan, a global competition platform for early-stage tech entrepreneurs. Going along with the corporate slogan of “Stride with Challengers”, the President Ryotaro Hayakawa says, and added that “he believes the selected outstanding women leaders will continue to undertake the challenge of changing the world to a better place”. He further commented that as a company that is committed to promote gender equality and inclusiveness, Striders will continue make contributions to create more fair and equal opportunities for women empowerment, especially within Japan.

About She Loves Tech Japan 2021

 Due to the pandemic this year’s competition will be held as a virtual event with the organizers hopes to have a full-scale event in 2022. The bootcamp for the finalists will be held on 15th and 16th of September while the final round will be held on 21st September 2021. The winner will be rewarded with $50,000 from She Loves Tech, Teja Ventures, and Asian Development Bank Ventures, special media and mentorship prizes, fast track access to She Love Tech’s partner funds and accelerator programs, and in-house advisory services among others.
